General Flow

This is just a general flow of our process.  The amount of time it takes from applying for a requisition through being hired can not be defined.

Application Process: Applications and resumes are screened for minimum and preferred qualifications for the position identified by the applicant.  Due to the large volume of applicants for some positions, it is very important to identify positions most closely aligned with your skills, experience and interest.

We carefully screen each application to be sure that the most qualified job seekers are considered for job openings. The recruitment staff makes every effort to review applications as quickly as possible, but some searches take longer than others.

Because of the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to contact individuals on the status of their search. Only those invited for interviews will be notified when the job is filled.

Please note that for previous UTMB employees, a re-hire clearance will be completed prior to referral of your application to the department.

After your initial application is received, you may apply for new jobs that become open.

You may e-mail us, or call (409) 770-9187  Please include your social security number in the request.

Applications with no activity for 90 days will be placed in an inactive status and a new application will be required in order to be considered for new job openings.  You are encouraged to continue to visit the job postings and identify any jobs for which you qualify and have an interest in.

Interview Process: Applicants selected for interview will be notified of the interview appointment by the hiring authority.  The hiring authority will make the final selection and an employment offer will be made to the successful candidate after Human Resources has confirmed that the recruitment process was followed according to established procedure.

Eligibility To Work: All successful applicants will be required to provide or undergo the following procedures:

A background screening

Proof of United States citizenship or eligibility, or authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days from the date of hire;

and where appropriate:

sign a Confidentiality statement

and / or

complete a TB skin test and drug screen.
