JOB SUMMARY:
To assist the VP for
Education in the creation of the new Inter-professional Education Simulation
Center. Assist in the procurement of state of the art equipment, layout/design
of the center relative to the appropriate positioning of equipment and
programming high fidelity mannequins/simulators; as well as performing various
other activities pertaining to development of protocols and procedures;
administrative manuals; teaching aids and staff/faculty training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Creates procedure manual for proper
faculty/staff/student usage and operation of all equipment. Follows
specific technical bulletins, read operation and repair manuals, contacts
appropriate personnel, and reports and documents equipment functioning to VP
for Education.

Develops, in conjunction with the Simulation
Center Steering Committee, a proposed plan for Center usage by all
schools.

Develops audiovisual methods and multimedia
programs.

Works with the Simulation Center Steering
Committee to select and procure all simulation associated equipment.

Works with Facilities Project manager on the
appropriate layout of the Center to support the use of all simulators, high
fidelity mannequins, and other related materials such as computers desks,
study areas, administrative support areas and placement of audio visual
equipment.

Works with vendors on the programming of
equipment; creation of scenarios and faculty/staff training.

Supports the proposed education research
component of the simulation center mission by preparing equipment for
research projects and understanding education research protocols.

Troubleshoots any malfunctions of the new
equipment as required and/or directed by the manufacturer and ensures
preparations of warranty follow up and repairs and replacement as needed.

Works with faculty on the development and
planning of teaching related activities. Works with the Department of
Anesthesiology Simulator Technician in the development of inter-professional
anesthesia and critical care learning activities for advance practice
nursing students; physician assistant students, respiratory care students
and medical students.

Develops appropriate internal controls for
department; creates mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Performs preliminary administrative duties
such as recording, categorizing and reconciling expenses.

Orders all necessary supplies for the center
to function.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline
and/or equivalent experience. Two (2) years of experience working in a clinical
setting with at least one (1) of year experience working with anesthesia
supplies, equipment and procurement.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments.
