JOB SUMMARY: 

To provide management and supervisory skills involving the operation and financial administration of the UTMB Hair Design Studio.

 MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: 

• Manages shop staff.
• Tracks and monitors revenue.
• Performs hair cutting and styling for customers.
• Performs personnel management functions such as recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for a department.
• Conducts employee performance reviews and makes recommendations for merit increases.
• Participates in budget planning and development of shop.
• Coordinates procurement of equipment and supplies and manages all phases of acquisition cycle.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Identifies appropriate internal controls for shop; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

Cosmetology certificate from an accredited school/program, State of Texas Cosmetology license, and three years related experience. 

EQUIPMENT: 

Standard office equipment. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

Standard office environment.
