JOB SUMMARY: To provide senior level administrative and supervisory expertise, and leadership in the management of human resources programs within a designated region. Delivers quality services to its customers including management and employees while realizing the UTMB Correctional Managed Care Human Resources mission, vision, and values. MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: · Contributes to the success of UTMB Correctional Managed Care Organization · Directs, manages and supervises the administrative activities of regional human resources offices · Administers and participates in the planning for human resources services to include but not limited to compensation, employee relations, employment, benefits, and records management · Communicates policies and procedures to customers and counsels management to provide for consistent administration. · Provides for orientation and exiting process for employees · Manages employee records in accordance with established policies and procedures. · Coordinates benefits administration services in accordance with established policies and procedures. · Coordinates discipline and grievance processes with management, employee relations and affirmative action. · Conducts training as necessary. · Reviews and interprets human resources practices to ensure legal requirements and institutional policies are met · Directs, instructs, and evaluates activities of professional and support staff · Establishes goals, performance standards and objectives for designated region · Counsels department administrators, representatives and other employees regarding human resources policies, practices and services · Monitors current programs and based on assessed needs recommends revised and/or new programs · Conducts special projects for Director of Human Resources
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related discipline and 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience. PRH and 10 years progressive Human Resources experience, with 5 years in a supervisory role preferred. Four (4) years healthcare experience preferred. EQUIPMENT: Standard office equipment. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments. Require extensive travel to meet with customers. Require entering prison facilities. May be exposed to such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, harmful chemicals, and/or disoriented or combative patients. OTHER: Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
