JOB SUMMARY:
To direct and coordinate
the activities of several units specifically responsible for UTMB revenue cycle
activities either within the areas of registration or billing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work with the
managers, team leaders and staff of each unit to design work process
improvements that will result in higher quality of performance, enhanced FTE
utilization, budget reduction, optimization of third party reimbursement and
enhanced patient satisfaction.
- Analyze monthly key
indicator data from each area of responsibility in order to identify areas
of opportunity and impacting trends.
- Communicate with
employees, peers and superiors throughout the University to coordinate
responsibilities, resolve issues and communicate pertinent information
regarding policy and procedures and department performance.
- Review budget
data/reports to identify any variances that may exist and consider
appropriate measures to ensure a balanced budget.
- Work with managers
and their staff throughout the various areas to further develop their
strengths and prepare them for future advancement opportunities.
- Review employee
satisfaction and employee retention data and work with managers and staff to
develop action plan to address deficiencies.
- Maintain healthcare
industry contacts and information pertinent to areas of responsibility.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related
field and 5 years of experience in revenue cycle with at least 3 years in a
management position within revenue cycle.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard office environments.
