JOB SUMMARY:

To provide a high level of staff assistance to Entity Administrative Services Team Manager in carrying out the missions of the institution. Organizes, coordinates, and performs administrative duties concerning human resource and financial management activities and assists in the supervision of administrative staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for executing with minimal direction, administrative duties at the highest level while exercising considerable discretion and judgment.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates administrative duties.
  • Assists administrative specialist in attaining goals and objectives as well as trouble-shooting problems with documented resolutions.
  • Coordinates and interacts with other Entity Support Administrative Teams or their associates within the University.
  • Identifies operational problems and implements changes to provide solutions.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of reports (standard and ad-hoc) to retrieve HCM data.
  • Responsible for maintaining office operations which are effective and efficient.
  • Responds to or initiates correspondence of a confidential or technical nature.
  • Prepares meeting agendas as well as attends meetings with or in lieu of EAST Manager.
  • Interviews and selects candidates for support positions within the department.
  • Maintains a broad organization perception to effectively carry out the internal and external relationships of the office.
  • Serves as the designated backup in the absence of the EAST Manager.
  • Adheres to internal controls established by department.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS:

           Performs related duties as required. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and three years of related experience.

 EQUIPMENT:

 Standard office equipment.

 WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

 Standard office environment.

 OTHER:

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
