JOB SUMMARY: 

Design and deliver medical Spanish curriculum to first year medical students. 

MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: 

  • Teach medical Spanish curriculum to a small group of first year medical students using s textbook provided by course directors.
  • Integrate Spanish language and culture into the Practice of Medicine, year one course as outlined by course directors.
  • Design and develop language/culture instructional materials as needed
  • Translate teaching tools into Spanish
  • Evaluate Spanish language proficiency of students (reading, writing, listening, comprehension, and speaking skills), including grading
  • Maintain records and reports
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department
  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in designing, producing, and delivering instruction in Spanish.  Native or near native proficiency in Spanish is required.  

EQUIPMENT: 

Standard office equipment  

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments.
