JOB SUMMARY:
To audit complex systems or operations in order to evaluate and report on the
adequacy, effectiveness, and comprehensiveness of compliance, accounting,
management, or other controls in these operations.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:

Coordinates and conducts audits of compliance activities of all UTMB
departments. Audits include compliance, internal control, self-monitoring
activities, internal education activities, investigational, and billing and
coding audit with general supervision by the Director of Compliance Monitoring
and Investigations.

Interacts with business administration department heads on a routine basis and
establishes good work relations.

Allocates tasks to auditors and directs their daily performance, supervises
the audit work, review work papers and resolves questions and verifies that
conclusions are supported, keeps Director informed of audit progress, manages
the audit so that time is efficiently used and departmental quality management
standards are met.

Provides information or advice to the Director and Executive Directors.
Formulates alternative solutions to problems, sells ideas, and obtains
acceptance and action on audit findings.

Adheres to internal controls established for the department.

Completes other job-related functions and special projects as assigned by the
Director of Compliance Monitoring and Investigations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
discipline and four years of experience in audit or investigation function.

Standard office equipment.

Standard office environment.
