Job Summary:
To provide technical assistance in the preparation of specimens for ultrastructural cellular examinations and diagnosis.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Obtains and prepares tissues, tissue cultures, and other specimens.

Assists in performing the techniques of fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining of specimens.

Prepares various solutions and reagents.

Operates the electron microscope to view and screen stained specimens.
-
Assists in the evaluation and screening of specimens for further observation.
-
Photographs and develops negatives of tissues.
-
Assists in the maintenance and daily care of microscope.
-
Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school or equivalent and one year related experience.
Equipment:
Standard laboratory equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard laboratory environment.
Other:
