JOB SUMMARY:
This position will assist in the development,
implementation and expansion of the Baby Bonding Program for UTMB Correctional
Managed Care. Reports to the Chief Physician Executive for UTMB CMC.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Contributes to the success of UTMB Managed Care.

Provides overall coordination and administrative oversight of a system wide
program to provide services to offenders who have given birth while in
custody of Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).

Creates policy, procedures and materials for development of the
Mother-Infant Bonding Program for UTMB CMC.

Develops all appropriate consent and release forms necessary for the
programs operation.

Acts as liaison with TDCJ Security to insure appropriate selection and
security of qualified offenders.

Interacts with appropriate community organizations to provide support for
the Mother-Infant Bonding Program

Develops outcome measures and coordinates a process through UTMB CMC
Department of Epidemiology

Develops peer education program for female offenders throughout the system.

Devises a mechanism for care provisions of female offenders participating in
out of prison programming.

Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to independently plan, organize and direct operations of a system
wide program within area of responsibility.

Skills to monitor and evaluate program goals and objectives.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s
degree or equivalent. Five years of work experience in program management with
focus in the delivery of peer education. Prefer experience with CMC/TDCJ systems
and community based organizations.
