JOB SUMMARY:
To provide advanced technical skills in the
completion of medical/aesthetic procedures. Participates in educating medical
students, resident physicians, the regional medical community, and general
public in the areas of skin care and pre and post operative procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs aesthetic procedures including but
not limited to make-up application, facials, peels, extractions, waxing,
microdermabrasion, and laser treatments.

Maintains and coordinates product inventory,
retail sales and marketing of products and aesthetic services.

Schedules and coordinates cosmetic
procedures. Assists with patient communication, such phone calls and
appointment scheduling.

Manages all equipment and lasers to ensure
equipment is working properly and maintained regularly. Coordinates with
Clinical Equipment Services (CES) and vendors on equipment maintenance and
repair.

Coordinates physician, medical student and
staff training with vendors for their particular product or device.

Coordinates the development of patient
education literature, brochures, presentations, and pre and post operative
instructions for aesthetic procedures.

Participates in patient educational
seminars. Understands and promotes all of the cosmetic procedures that the
practice offers.

Ensures patient safety and confidentiality

Assists with and coordinates clinical trials
for research and testing of new products.

Adheres to internal controls and reporting
structure.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
-
Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of approved aesthetician program.
No experience required. Current licensure Texas Department of Licensing and
Regulation.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard patient care and aesthetic equipment and lasers, related supplies and
mechanical devices. Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
-
Work environment is located in a comfortable
indoor area.

Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped
workspace and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort.
-
Moderate to extreme physical effort may be
required such as walking, standing and lifting materials, equipment, objects
and/or patients.

Occasional lifting may be heavy and awkward,
over 50 lbs.
-
Vision, hearing, talking and sense of touch
abilities must be adequate enough to enable one to quickly and accurately
perform tasks such as: reading small print, reading from equipment, defining
details, sending and receiving clear and accurate verbal communication.

Frequent periods of concentrated or focused
attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory input.
-
Alertness and careful attention to detail
will be required to avoid injury.

May be exposed to such occupational hazards
as communicable diseases, cosmetic chemicals, and laser radiation.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to
this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby
subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
