JOB SUMMARY:

To work with clinical departments to identify opportunities and to facilitate related improvements to optimize clinical outcomes and data integrity based on analysis of information within Decision Support Systems; to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical and healthcare system staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes, including implementation of UHC benchmark results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs and provides reports with information on clinical outcomes, data integrity, and physician trends as requested by physicians, management, and other customers.
  • Analyzes and interprets information within the Decision Support Systems from a clinical perspective.  Makes recommendations based on these findings that will impact data integrity from source systems for clinical reporting.
  • Provides clinical data and analyst support to clinical teams working on improvements identified.
  • Promote the use and application of the Decision Support Systems throughout the organization by seeking out opportunities to further integrate and apply Decision Support information in the daily management process within the organization.
  • Participates actively with various departments and medical and clinical staff leadership related to quality improvement, data integrity, and accreditation efforts.
  • Collaborates with medical and clinical staff leadership to determine information needs, assess information availability, design and provide reports, and participate in interpretation and presentation of information.
  • Provides information and collaborates with clinical/medical staff in the development of clinical practice guidelines, resource protocols, and indicators.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent and three years experience in healthcare information technology or healthcare data management.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard hospital environments.
