Purpose:

The Employee Referral Bonus Program (ERBP) was developed to award the recruitment efforts of all employees. Effective 9/1/2001, any employees who successfully refer an applicant for a vacant benefit-eligible clinical enterprise position (i.e., UTMB Hospital, TDCJ Hospital and Correctional Managed Care) will receive:

$1,500 over 2 years for hard-to-fill positions (at 3 months payout will be $250; at 6 months payout will be $250; at one year payout will be $500; and at two years payout will be $500;)

$250 after 6 months for all other positions (one time payout)

Program Details

Referring Employee:

You must be a UTMB employee to be eligible for the program
President’s Council members are not eligible for the program
If you are directly responsible or on the hierarchy chain for the applicant’s position, you are not eligible for the program
You must be a UTMB employee at the time payouts are given
You may refer as many applicants as desired
 

Applicant:

Applicants cannot have been employed by UTMB in the last 12 months
Applicants must indicate a referral source of "Employee" and indicate the referring employee's name on the application form for the job they are hired into
Only one name may be identified for each applicant.  If two names are listed, the first name is used. If that person is not still employed, the second name is used.
Applicants must attend UTMB New Employee Orientation 
Applicants may participate in the ERBP once they are officially hired

Payouts/Positions:

All bonus payouts are subject to taxation
Bonus payouts will be paid to the employee within three pay periods after the appropriate timeframe has been met
 

Hard to Fill Positions are subject to change every 6 months at the discretion of the Institutional Compensation Committee.
